Jacqueline O’Halleran’s Uncle Frank left her his ranch in Wyoming and a mountain of debt. Feeling terribly alone, she returns to her childhood home and starts selling off horses and other assets to pay off what he owed. She plans to sell the ranch, until the man who rejected her as a teenager explains that she can’t because her uncle didn’t own it. Lance Blackfeather has loved Jacqueline since childhood, but had to turn her away when she was sixteen because she was too young. He knows she can’t possibly love him, but the attraction between them is volcanic. Maybe he can trick her into staying with him anyway.

I love Western romances! Uncertainly Yours comes complete with rich descriptions of Wyoming ranchland, fine characters, and a love story spiced with some really hot sex. It’s a lovely combination. Jack’s anguish at losing her only relative is palpable, as is her certainty that Lance could never love her. Lance, on the other hand, is so desirable and so ready for another chance with Jack, even though he knows he’s killed any chance of her love.

Even as they each think they are deceiving the other about their feelings, their smoking sensuality and steamy bedroom scenes will have you heading for multiple cold showers.

Ms. Lee offers just enough of the main characters’ history to flesh them out and lead us to their current dilemma. When they finally start communicating their love for each other, it’s delightful. Uncertainly Yours is a wonderful, sexy Western romance to start the year.

When Jacqueline’s uncle, the man who raised her, dies unexpectedly, she returns to her childhood home to settle his affairs, hoping to pay off his debts, sell the house and head back to her normal life. Things are quickly complicated by the arrival of Lance, the object of her heated—and unrequited—teenage fantasies. He greets her with open arms, smoldering kisses and mind-blowing orgasms…but makes it clear that he wants to keep things casual.

It’s been years since he saw her, but Lance never managed to get Jack out of his head or his fantasies. He knows only too well, though, she has plenty of reason not to spare him a second thought. Despite that, it’s clear her desire for him is still alive and well—and he’s not above exploiting it. He’ll keep things casual and give her what she wants, satisfying her every need, until she begs him to give her what he’s wanted for years. Not just her body, but her love.

Review:

A second chance at love is all that Lance needs. He will make sure that his little winyan is taken care of and that she finds a way to overlook their past to make room for him in her future.

She is as stubborn as an old mule, and her Irish temper doesn’t help matters any, but Jack will take from Lance what she has wanted for the past decade, even if that is all she’ll ever have of him.

Ms. Lee’s characters have plenty of sizzling chemistry, a slightly meddling aunt, explicitly erotic sex scenes and a hint of humor here and there. Uncertainly Yours is well written, fast paced and sexy. A very good read.

Oh sweet lawd where to start with this one!! I’m still fanning myself!! New-to-me author Fran Lee brings us the sooo sexy Uncertainly Yours. How does a man that screwed up royally 10 years ago convince a hardheaded Irish girl to take a chance on him and that he loves her??

Lance has been in love with Jacqueline as long as he can remember, but 10 years ago he was the older man and she was the 16-year-old offering herself up on a silver platter. He did the only thing a dumb man usually can think of. He made her think he didn’t want her. He tells her “Just because a man gets a hard-on, it doesn’t mean he’s in love, Jack. Save yourself a lot of grief and don’t offer yourself to someone just because he likes what he sees.” This both crushes her and keeps her from turning to the wrong kind of man. Now she is home to settle her late uncle’s debt and sell his ranch, but little does she know she can’t do any of that and the one man she never wanted to see again wants her to be his forever. Does he tell her the truth and put his heart on the line. NOOO that would be too smart for a man!! ;) He does his best to try and trick her into loving him back. What proceeds is a hot as hell and at times a little funny good time. Can these two that got it so wrong in the past build something to last a life time??

I absolutely loved this book!! I am now a fan and I’ll be darned if I don’t have another book crush! Lance is a hot as hell Native American!! This is a novella, but it is so well written you feel like you have read a large book. This is one I highly recommend!!

Review:

What does it feel like to come home after you have been away for a long time? Can you fit right in again, or are old wounds still there, unhealed? In Uncertainly Yours, by Fran Lee, Jacqueline returns to the only home she knew after the death of her father and mother. Her uncle Frank, who took her in has just died and she needs to tie up loose ends and one of those loose ends is Lance Blackfeather!

I can certainly relate to going home after a long time away and Jack seems to fit right back in, and it also seems as if she never left. The only thing that makes it complicated, apart from the debts left behind by her uncle and the amount of work she has to do to clear those debts, is Lance. Jack was Lance’s shadow when she was younger and when she was a teen he was the object of her unrequited love. Instead of letting her down easily though, Lance helped break her heart and she has never forgotten or really moved on. Neither for that matter has he; she still haunts his dreams and thoughts!

Perhaps now is the time to move on so she can finally get past Lance. The thing is, once she sees him again, does she really want to forget him and go on with the way her life was before? Will Lance let her get away again?

I really liked both characters, Lance and Jack. Jack is a strong willed female who hides her emotions and feelings behind a shield of bravado and a quite acerbic tongue and wit, at least when it has to do with Lance. Lance on the other hand is a drop dead gorgeous hunk who pushed Jack away in her teens because she was too young and because he couldn’t deal with the things she made him feel. Add to that the fact he would have had a rampaging uncle to deal with as well as possible jail time for underage sex, and Jack was hands off! Lance is scared to admit what he feels to Jack; he knows he hurt her deeply when he rejected her and is afraid of being rejected by her as well. Yet, he still comes up with a plan to get her back into his arms where she belongs. He also shows he has a soft side and cares deeply for family and would do anything to help those in need.

Jack has never got past Lance and he has colored all of the relationships that she ever tried to have, to the point that they were unsuccessful. Now Lance is offering her a way to get him out of her system, but the question is does she really want to get him out of her system at all?

This is a tale of two people who share a red hot attraction for each other, but who keep dancing around each other without addressing the situation head on. Lance and Jack share these amazing sexual encounters and Lance’s plan to keep Jack, well, let’s just say if being ‘bought’ had these kinds of side effects, then I certainly wouldn’t knock it! It also goes to show that sometimes men do not think straight and had Lance listened to his Aunt Molly, then he and Jack might have sorted out their differences sooner rather than later and without so much hurt and heartache in between. I love tales of unrequited love with sex that is hot and steamy, of homecoming and family and a HEA!

Put all of these things together and you have Uncertainly Yours. Grab yourself a copy; you won’t regret it!

Can time heal all wounds or does a broken heart never heal? Jacqueline must return to her uncle’s ranch when he unexpectedly passes away. As she tries to pay off his debts she soon realizes she may have bitten off more than she can chew. When her girlhood school crush comes giving her more bad news, Jacqueline has had all that she can take. She remembers just how he broke her heart one night and has never forgotten those painful words. Seeing Lance now only adds to her misery. Yet the deal he proposes may just get her out of trouble only if she can remember to keep her heart out of it.

Once again I was engrossed in a wonderful world created by this author. The characters and the world are brought vividly to life. I could feel Jacqueline’s pain and sorrow. The attraction between her and Lance was so hot that it burns up the pages. We have all been through the pain of our first rejection and Jacqueline’s haunts her still. I loved the woman she has grown into and the strength she holds. Lance is a good man and only wants what is best for Jacqueline. Even all those years before he had only wanted to do what was right by her. Yet Lance seems to keep going at things in the wrong way but hopefully love will win in the end.

The two make a wonderful couple and they are so in love. Watching the two work out all the bumps in their relationship made for a great read. I just adored Lance in the bathroom scene. Just like Jacqueline I realized just what a good and gentle man he is underneath all his bluster. That scene is a pivotal point in the book for me and really registered in me.

This is a sweet romance full of emotions that had me so enthralled I read it in one sitting. I loved Jacqueline and Lance; they prove that love can last and that when you find the right one you need to hold on to it.

Jacqueline was raised on her uncle’s ranch after she was orphaned. She eventually moves away to the city and thinks everything with her uncle is fine, until he passes away unexpectedly. When she gets to the ranch she finds out that things were not going as well as she thought they were. The ranch is run down and deeply in debt.

Jacqueline finds out stores in town were extending her Uncle credit even though it would have taken him a long time to pay them back. She sells her car and liquidates her investments so she can pay off the debts, but after paying some of them off she doesn’t have much money left over for food, supplies, or repairs.

Lance, her high school crush, makes a deal with her; he’ll pay off her uncle’s debts, pay for his funeral, buy her a new truck and help with expenses. The catch…..they’ll enjoy a physical relationship with the understanding it’s not going to be anything more. Lance is hoping that eventually Jacqueline will start to feel for him what he feels for her…..love.

Uncertainly Yours was so hot I thought I was in a sauna while I was reading it! There were parts where I thought I was going to have to take a long cold shower to cool myself off. I loved the way they started their physical relationship off; like two sex crazed teenagers. Who knew dry humping was so sexy! This activity helped them get to know what each of them liked so when they finally did get down to business, it was perfect. Fran Lee has penned a sexy tale which will make you want to move to Nebraska and find your own sexy cowboy.
